Japan saw a 2012 Subaru WRX STI tS

Almost two weeks ago in Japan introduced a new version of the Impreza WRX STI 2011, received the name of the Subaru WRX STI tS, which had been known only that the car will receive a carbon-fiber hood.

Now the Japanese company is offering full details of all-wheel drive vehicle. It turns out there are actually two versions - WRX STI tS and WRX STI A-Line tS, based on four-door version of the SUBARU WRX STI and WRX STI A-Line (automatic transmission).

Versions come with a reduced weight due to the aforementioned carbon-fiber hood. In addition, there is a new suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, Recaro sports seats and much more.

tS uses a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged Boxer, power of 308 hp and 430 Nm of torque, connected to a five-speed manual gearbox. As for A-Line tS, then under its hood is a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit, capable of 300 hp and 350 Nm, complete with five-speed automatic.

Subaru launched the Sport model, Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec C

Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. which is the manufacturer of Subaru cars, began marketing a sports hatchback Subaru Impreza WRX Spec C Cars are built with a base Subaru WRX STI - which is Subaru's iconic sports car - it is claimed more lighter, agile, and more powerful.

One of the advantages Impreza WRX Spec C is the use of ball bearings as the bearing axis twin-scroll turbocharger turbine. In addition, the perfecting device Subaru Engine Control Unit (ECU). So that greater torque (although at low rpm), more responsive. Acceleration is also much faster car.

Devices in the suspension system in both front and rear also re-formulated. The manufacturer is changing the system of Limited Slip Differential) on the rear wheel suspension into mechanical systems. Previously, this device uses torsen system.

Subaru calls, starting today the car is marketed in Japan. However, the manufacturer does not provide detailed information on whether the car will also be exported to various countries.

(FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, today announced that Subaru of America, Inc.* released the Subaru Outback (US specifications model) was named MOTOR TREND’s 2010 Sport/Utility of the year. The Subaru Outback’s victory follows the Subaru Forester’s win for the 2009 award, making Subaru the first automaker to win two consecutive MOTOR TREND Sport/Utility of the Year awards.
Living up to Subaru’s legendary safety record, the Outback offers cutting-edge safety technology, including Subaru’s ring reinforcement safety system, front, seat-mounted side, and side-curtain airbags and ABS. Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system, which incorporates stability and traction control systems with a roll-over sensor, is also standard equipment. The Subaru Outback was recently named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS).

To judge contenders for the award, MOTOR TREND‘s editorial staff conducted an exhaustive three-phase testing process. Phase one of the process includes a full tech check and weigh-in, then full track testing to establish baseline data for acceleration, braking, and handling. Phase two involves three days of road loops offering a range of road surfaces and traffic conditions to evaluate ride and handling, engine and transmission smoothness and responsiveness, wind and road noise, and ergonomics. A dirt-track section tests traction, stability, and braking control systems. In phase three the judges debate and deliberate.
This year, the editors updated and expanded the judging criteria to six new categories: Design Advancement, Engineering Excellence, Intended Function, Efficiency, Safety and Value.
MOTOR TREND’s Sport/Utility of the Year® is not a comparison test and is only open to all-new or substantially upgraded vehicles that have gone on sale in the 12 months from November 1 of the previous year. MOTOR TREND looks for the pick of each year’s crop of new SUV’s, and does not revisit vehicles that have been on sale for the past few years.

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX: Sorry About Last Year's 'WRX'

The 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX is a bold statement from the Japanese sport compact maker: We admit our mistakes with the WRX, and we at Subaru are listening to you.

When Subaru unleashed a completely redesigned Impreza and Impreza WRX line for 2008, the reaction from their cult-like following, the Subaru tuner community and the general public was mixed at best. The new Subaru WRX, with its softened suspension, better road manners and smoother power delivery was an attempt to bring in fresh faces to the sport compact scene, those who thought the loud, snarly, outgoing 2007 Impreza WRX was for high school kids only.
Sounds great, right? Not so fast. The die-hard Subaru WRX community gave it a big thumbs down. They did not want a budget BMW, or a glorified Toyota Corolla.

They wanted the evolution of the legendary Impreza line they knew and loved. They saw the old Subaru WRX as much more than the sum of its parts, a ready-and-willing canvass for the thousands of aftermarket parts Subaru AWD sport compacts tend to attract. What they got was a larger, bulkier Impreza chassis that was called all kinds of bad names by the automotive press. The word "Corolla" comes to mind.

The Subaru Impreza sport compact sedan in all its variations, ever in competition with AWD offerings from Mitsubishi and losing market share to the likes of the Mazdaspeed 3 and Volkswagen GTI, needed a shot in the arm. Reaching into the Subaru parts bin, the Japanese company that has become synonomous with all-wheel-drive has given the 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX a larger turbocharger and an entirely redesigned Subaru exhaust system, resulting in a huge boost in horsepower for a total of 265.

The other area of attention is in the handling department. Last year's Subaru WRX couldn't even manage the same skidpad and laptime numbers as its predecessor, so for 2009 the Impreza WRX has received some much-needed handling tweaks. The Subaru parts department has made big increases in the rigidity of the suspension, with spring rates tightning up by large factors. Larger stabilizer bars should give the 2009 WRX better composure on the road and on the track.

An all-new standard Subaru WRX bodykit rounds out the package, and while it still looks a little bloated, the new 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX should do more to please fans of the most respected name in AWD sport compacts.

Are These Toyota-Subaru RWD Coupe Spy Photos ?

There have been plenty of rumors and assumptions about what, how, when we gonna see the Toyota-Subaru RWD coupe. Every new day comes a new take. It will be cheap, it won’t be cheap, there will be a turbo AWD version there won’t be, it will debut in 2010, maybe 2011 - you get the picture. Now to add fuel to fire are these spy photos that are said to be of upcoming Toyota Subaru baby taken outside a test center in the UK.

These mystery spy photos could very well be the car in question but we’ll let you be the judge of that. What we think we know, is that the new coupe will be based on a modified Subaru Impreza platform with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated Subaru boxer four-cylinder providing power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.

Since the upcoming mule aims to be a common-mans sportscar, so we do expect a price figure south of $20,000.
