Nissan Motor Corporation Ltd introduced Nissan JUKE 16GT/16GT FOUR

In Japan, Nissan Motor Corporation Ltd. introduced a new variant of Nissan's crossover SUV Juke 16GT and 16GT Four. What distinguishes this variant with the standard variant is the use of turbo engine and four-wheel drive system that makes it more sporty when driven.

Both models also has intelligent control display. When the mode "Sport" is selected, you can feel the acceleration is more responsive to the settings in the CVT transmission. Controls on the power steering also makes the steering more stable. Turbo pressure levels used were displayed on the display panel, including lateral and longitudinal gravitational force that occurs during accelerated. These provide a different driving sensation on Juke.

Both carry the 16GT and 16GT Four 1.6-liter engine coupled with Xtronic CVT transmission with manual shift mode 6-speed. Peak-powered engine 190 PS and 240 Nm of torque is claimed to be comparable with the 2.5 liter engine performance. The use of direct injection technology with a turbocharger and suction control valve opening and exhaust continuously variable-valve timing control (CVTC) to produce responsive performance while fuel efficiency.

In 16GT Four, the four wheel drive system features the ALL MODE 4X4i with a torque vectoring system that can effectively distribute torque to front and rear axle. This system optimally controls the torque distribution between left and right rear wheels using an electronically controlled clutch. Torque distribution between front and rear wheels are controlled by steering wheel rotation and driving behavior.

This is a fair improvement over the output of the current models 485hp/434tq and this extra power could help the mighty GT-R move up the list of the fastest cars in the world (based on testing done at the famed Nürburgring in Germany). The 2011 Nissan GT-R will be the 2012 Nissan GT-R when it hits US shores next year.
